About the Race

This spectacular trail run will start at the beginning of Last Dollar Road by the Telluride Airport. Racers will make their way down Last Dollar Road to the Deep Creek Corral. At the corral the singletrack starts and racers will enter the Aspen-filled woods lining the deep creek trail on their journey back to the Town of Telluride. The course is approximately 13 miles long, mostly singletrack, and will end back in the town of Telluride. If you enjoy running on golden paths of Fall colors in enjoyable cool temperatures, then this race is perfect for you.

Date and Start Time

The race will be on September 28th 2024 and will start at 10:30 AM. Pre-race briefing will be at 10:20 AM.

Important Disclaimer

This is a high altitude mountain trail race! The majority of the course is on semi-technical single-track and racers should come prepared with proper clothing for inclement weather.

Aid Stations

Aid Station Food/Descriptions: We will stock all our aid stations with standard aid station supplies (think fruit, sweet snacks, salty snacks, coke, ginger ale, etc.), as well as water and tailwind, think fruit, sweet snacks, salty snacks, coke, ginger ale, etc. Use aid one as a restock of water if you need it. Aid station 2 will have a much more diverse selection of food and snacks and the standard aid station supplies.

Safety Plan

Overview: Confluence Events prioritizes participant safety during the Deep Creek Half Marathon. All participants will be given a brief safety rundown prior to racing. Aid stations and race directors utilize radio communication to track racers in and out of aid stations, and stand ready to provide any medical assistance. Local EMS will be on-call during our race. Ultra-trail running has inherent risks and Confluence Events seeks to mitigate any unnecessary risk during the event.

Time Limits: The cutoff times will be listed above at a later date. We may be forced to adjust cutoff times based on inclement weather to ensure runner safety

Aid Station Medical: We will do our best to have a volunteer trained in First Aid at each aid station, which will be supplied with a first aid kit. For more serious issues, a search and rescue call will be triggered.

Recommended Gear: Hydration and sun protection gear. Warm layers and the ability to be self sufficient on the alpine trails is mandatory.

Parking and Shuttle Information

Parking

If you plan on using the Shuttle, you can park at the Carhenge Parking Lot, which is an 8-10 minute walk from the finish. If you plan to drive to the airport, please park in the Long-Term North Parking (free) around where we will be staging the start.

Shuttles

We highly recommend the shuttle option as it makes logistics much easier. Shuttles are by purchase only (though Ultrasignup when you register) and will only be leaving from Carhenge Parking Lot at 9:30 AM the morning of the race.
